The Society of St. Yves – Catholic Center for Human Rights, conducted a field trip to “Masafer Yatta” – an area in the south of the West Bank. The Society of St. Yves also visited “ Khillet al Dab’ “ an area that witnessed the confiscation of three tents housing 3 different Palestinian families ( 21 persons – more than half of whom were children). The Palestinian families set up those tents on top of the ruins and remains of their houses, after the Israeli occupation’s authorities demolished them under the pretext of lacking a construction permit, leaving the families homeless and forcing them to spread through out the land to provide shelter for themselves and their children.
The trip also included visiting the area of “ Maghayer al Obaid”; an area that witnessed the demolition of a cattle farm belonging to a Palestinian family also under the pretext of lacking a construction permit, resulting in gross losses to the family.
It is worth mentioning that the Israeli occupation’s authorities, through the so- called Civil Administration, have in recent months increased their targeting of Palestinians in areas (C), putting thousands of Palestinians at risk of forcible displacement and homelessness.
